NILES -- Doris "Dorie" Harris, 80, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024, at Trumbull Regional Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 5, 1943, in Warren, the daughter of the late Edwin Airwyke and Frances Elizabeth Hylton Airwyke.
Dorie, as she was affectionately known, was a 1961 graduate of Badger High School and earned her master's degree in business administration from Hiram College. She retired as a supervisor at General Motors.
Dorie was a member of many organizations including Trumbull County League of Women Voters, Trumbull County Federation of Women's Clubs, Warren Junior Women's League, Slovak Club, VFW Club, Lions Club and Eastern Star of Cortland.
She is survived by her children, April (Travis) Hochstetler, Denny (Joe Lenick) Harris, Wayne Harris, Kathy Harris and David (Michael) Harris; brothers, Edwin (Betty) Airwyke Jr. and Rolla Airwyke; grandchildren, Nicole (Paulo Sousa Jr.) Brooks, Andrew (Samara) Brooks, Taylor Brooks, Michelle Harris and Zackery Hocpker; great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Dierickx, Damon and Austin; nephew, Jason; and nieces, Tracy and Cat.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Harris; brother, Robert Airwyke; and great-granddaughter, Jessica Hines.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2024, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home and again one hour prior to the service from 1 p.m. until service time, Friday.
Interment will be in Niles City Cemetery, Niles.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
