CORTLAND -- Robert Lee Pumphrey, 79, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, at his home.
He was born July 7, 1944, in Weston, W.Va., the son of the late William F. and Haydie A. Wilt Pumphrey.
Robert worked as a line worker and maintenance department for General Motors.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from July 20, 1964, until June 30, 1967.
Robert was a member of Fowler Community Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, bingo and working on cars, especially his Nova, but above all, he loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia Pumphrey of Cortland; daughters, Leigh A. (Mark) Timko, Kimberly (Anthony) Stevens, Kelly (Paul) Hetherington and Robin (Jason) Bennett; sisters, Evelyn (Jim) Titus and Janie Pumphrey; grandchildren, Lindsay (Ryan), Joshua, Autumn, Amanda (Sam), Alisha (Daniel), Brandon (Leah), Bryce, Dakota and Levii; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings.
Friends may call 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Fowler Community Church.
A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at the church. Pastor Joel Dickson will officiate.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
