CORTLAND -- Francis "Sonny" Misiura, 86, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2024, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born the son of the late Francis and Anna Misiura in Johnstown, Pa., on June 27, 1937. After graduation, Sonny went on to work at a papermill. Eventually, he ended up retiring from Klaben Ford in 1999, as an auto technician.
Sonny married the love of his life, Doris, on Nov. 15, 1958; and they spent 65 years building a family and creating lifelong memories.
Sonny enjoyed golf, bowling and fishing, but he loved traveling with his wife and friends in their RV and especially his mountain home.
Sonny leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Doris; his two children, Patricia (David) and Lawrence (Tamie); a grandchild, Brittany (Matt); two great-grandchildren, Giavonni and Kaden; and his siblings, Delphine (Greg), Raymond (Patsy), Bernard (Monica) and John (Carolyn). Sonny was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ann.
Per his wishes, there will be no services.
The family asks anyone wishing to make a donation, in Francis' name, do so to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Boys Town.
