HOWLAND -- Raymond Richard Gospodarski Jr., a beloved husband, father and grandfather during his incredible 86 years of life, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2024.
Born to Raymond and Alice Gospodarski on April 11, 1937, Raymond was raised in Buffalo, New York and attended Bishop Ryan High School. While performing many school activities, he met the love of his life, Phyllis Moslow. They were married Aug. 16, 1958 and celebrated happily for 65 years.
Raymond worked for various companies as a comptroller. With his vast career, Raymond was able to experience multiple job opportunities that allowed him to travel all over the Northeastern Coast. He later retired from Kahn Paper Company Inc. in Capitol Heights, Maryland.
Raymond was a member of the Cleveland Polka Association as well as a member of the Good Timers Club at St. Robert Church. Raymond along with his wife, Phyllis enjoyed traveling and exploring the world together. From countless cruises to exploring other countries, they filled life with joy and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. When the loving pair were not traveling, you could find them on the dance floor polkaing to their favorite bands or Raymond, with his accordion, playing his favorite songs.
Raymond is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Kathy Shiley and Nan (Mike) Schnarrs; grandchildren, Matthew (Hunter) Schnarrs, Samantha (Jerry) Rouzzo, Stephanie (Brandon) Romer, Jennifer (Brandon) Arnett, and Kaitlyn (Kyle) Tolla; and great-grandchildren, Addie, Ryan, Elliana, Eason, Owen, Colton, Liam, and Kayden, whom he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Alice; and his beloved wife, Phyllis.
A celebration of life will be held, at a future date to be determined, at St. Robert Catholic Church in Cortland..
