WARREN -- Anthony J. "Iacovoni" Yaugo, 88, passed away Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, at his residence.
Anthony was born May 1, 1935, in Warren, the son of Anthony and Mary Colciaghi Yaugo.
Anthony retired, in 1997, from the cold strip department of WCI, where he worked for 20 years.
He previously owned and operated Mahoning Avenue Hairstyling Salon and spent time traveling in Europe, improving his skills.
He enjoyed Formula One racing, reading and studying his Bible, and all sports. He was also an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Warren G. Harding Raiders fan. His Christian faith was extremely important to him and he spent time in the Word, daily.
He also proudly served our country in the United States Air Force from Jan. 7, 1954, through Oct. 23, 1957.
Anthony is survived by his sister, Cheryl of Cortland; nephew, Jeff Benton (Joslyn) of Scottsdale, Arizona; a great-nephew and -niece, Damon and Hannah; and a great-great-nephew, Casen; as well as numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Elaine Benton.
A private family service and burial was held.
Interment took place in Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
