MECCA -- Thomas Tsalonis, 84, passed away Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, at his home.
He was born May 19, 1939, in Corinth, Greece, the son of the late Vlasis Tsalonis and the late Pasyota Ktscus Tsalonis.
Thomas was employed as a laborer in the Cold Strip Mill at WCI, LTV and Republic Steel, for 37 years. Thomas was a member of Fowler Community Church. He loved bowling, golfing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Malinda Johnson of Mecca, Ohio; two sons, Thomas Tsalonis of Warren and Nicholas (Riva) Tsalonis of Mecca; four grandchildren, Madison Goodman, Morgan Tsalonis (Jeffrey Tucker), Maria Tsalonis, and Brian (Desiree) Shaffer, along with nine great-grandchildren, Briannah, Konnor, Lorelie, Braxton, Lincoln, Deacon, Maebh, Teighan, and Wesley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, the former Esther M. Lesh; and a half-brother, Nick Zaharis.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 3, 2024, at the Fowler Community Church, where friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time.
Interment will be in the East Mecca Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any material contributions be made to Affinity Hospice, in his memory.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home.
