WARREN -- Mary Louise Natale Howe, of Warren, died peacefully, on Sunday, Dec. 24, 2023, two weeks shy of her 98th birthday, at her beloved home in Pass-A-Grille Beach, Florida. She was surrounded by love from her immediate family.
All who knew "Mary Lou" were struck by her beauty, intelligence and her pioneering passion for education and women's businesses. Her list of accomplishments is grand and long; however, she will best be remembered for her love of children and for founding The Warren Day School, a preschool and kindergarten that also hosted summer camp programs for elementary school-aged children.
After returning home from Catholic University, Mrs. Howe rented a small house and began a daycare center for young children. Over the years, her school grew into a mainstay for community meetings, art and education, as well as summertime fun. She was a member of the Ohio Education Association, where she often hosted workshops and was a sought-after speaker. Additionally, she served as the president of the Parent Teacher Council, an organization that raised money for high school seniors and their continuing education.
A forerunner in the world of women-owned businesses, Mrs. Howe was president of the Warren Business and Professional Club and also was a member of the Warren Women's Republican Club.
An avid golfer, Mrs. Howe found time to create a women's golf league, which is now 65 years later, still in existence. The cherished league, Chip 'n Putt, began as an opportunity for women to play golf and socialize. (https://www.tribtoday.com/life/life

She enjoyed a long life with her husband, Charles Desmond Howe, who passed away two weeks prior. Theirs was a true love story.
She is survived by her five children; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, Margaret Grace "Maggy" Howe, Anthony "Tony" Natale Howe, Lucille Ann "Lu" Ambrosia, Patricia Teresa "Trisha" Howe Fittipaldo and her husband, Teddy Fittipapldo III, and Charles Desmond "Desi" Howe Jr. and his wife, Erika Williams. Her six grandchildren are Nathaniel Marley Howe and her granddaughter-in-law, Joanne Howe, Marigrace Ambrosia and grandson-in-law, Usamn Ahmand, Adrianna Ambrosia, Nadine Marie Berezny, Desiree Louise Berzeny, and Zane Anthony Schlichting. Her two great-grandchildren are Aria Emmanuel Rose Howe and Nico Anthony Duke Howe.
A celebration of Mrs. Howe's life will be held in the spring, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband in Bay Pines Veterans Memorial in St. Petersburg, Florida.
