WARREN - Veronica Smith Flowers, 78, departed this earthly life to reside with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023, following a brief illness.
Born Feb. 15, 1945, in New Orleans, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Izell Smith and Edna Richburg Smith.
Veronica was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and retired from Delphi Packard Electric in 1999 after 33 years of service as an inspector.
A member of Grace A.M.E. Church, she served as a Steward, Trustee, Stewardess, member of the Senior Choir, lay organizations, Food Pantry, Church School, Helping Hand Club and the Rev. Gina Thornton Bible Study Class. Veronica was diligent in her service with several missionary ministries. She was a member of the Louise Currie Missionary Society 40 years, serving as Y.P.D. Director, secretary, treasure and Worship leader. On the North Ohio Conference Level, she served as Y.P.D. Director Worship Leader and Life Member Coordinator. She also served as the Tanner Turner Memorial Chairman. She was also a poll worker for Trumbull County Election Board.
Memories of Veronica will be cherished by her three sons, Gregory K. Flowers, Shawn T. Flowers and Quinn J. Flowers all of Warren; three sisters Edna Delores DeFoor, Gwendolyn M. Windom, both of Warren, and Brenda J. Cook of Youngstown; a brother, Elder Condridge R. Smith (Beverly) of Warren; six grandchildren;15 great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna and Izell Smith; a brother, Charles Reid Smith and a grandson, Jermaine Croff.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023, with viewing an hour prior to service at 10 a.m. at Grace A.M.E. Church, 1137 Main Ave. SW, Warren.
