Dale G. Rintala 1941-2023
SAN ANTONIO — Dale Gene Rintala, 82, passed away peacefully, Friday, Dec. 15, 2023.
Born April 11, 1941, in Warren, to Edward and Anna Jackson Rintala, Dale lived a life rich in experiences and filled with quiet love.
An Eagle Scout in his youth, Dale’s lifelong appreciation for nature was evident in his hobbies, which included hiking, camping, photography and tending to his vegetable garden. He pursued a successful career as a computer systems analyst at Dresser Industries in Houston, applying his keen intellect and dedication. Dale’s love for classic 1960s Volvos reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship and his sense of adventure.
Despite facing the challenges of Parkinson’s disease for two decades, Dale remained a symbol of resilience and strength. His warm smile and gentle presence were a source of comfort and inspiration to his family and friends.
Dale leaves behind his beloved wife, Diana Hopkins; his son, Joe and daughter-in-law, Lou; his cherished grandchildren, Milo and Pia; his nephew, Bill; and nieces, Pam, Su and Karen, and their families.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill; and niece, Bonnie.
To honor his memory, the family suggests donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research at michaeljfox.org. This tribute reflects Dale’s spirit of perseverance and his enduring wish to contribute to a better future.
