MIDDLEFIELD TOWNSHIP -- Daniel J. Byler, 78, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, at home.
He was born March 2, 1945, in Middlefield, the son of Jacob J. and Katie G. Detweiler Byler.
He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church and bishop of the Huntsburg East District.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie D. Raber Byler; children, David Byler, Elizabeth Wengerd, Nettie Miller, Daniel Byler, Urie Byler and Anna Hostetler; 45 grandchildren and one stepgranddaughter; five great-grandchildren; five brothers; and three sisters.
Daniel was preceded in death by his son, Jake Byler; two grandchildren; and two brothers.
Funeral services will be 9 a.m. Sunday at 16980 Burton Windsor Road, Middlefield, where calling hours will be anytime until the morning of services.
Interment will be in Miller Cemetery, Huntsburg.
