Lori Ann Williams 1970-2023
ORMOND BEACH, Fla. — With a sense of great loss and sadness, we announce the passing of Lori Ann Simoni Williams on Sunday, July 23, 2023, after a courageous five-year battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family as she peacefully went into eternal rest. Lori fought with everything she had to the very end; her loss will forever be felt in the hearts and lives of all who knew and loved her.
She was born on Sept. 24, 1970, in Warren, Ohio, to David A. and Lena M. Simoni. She was a 1988 graduate of Howland High School. She received a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from Youngstown State University and completed her Master of Science degree in nutrition and clinical dietetics from Finch University of Health Sciences, Chicago Medical School. She was very passionate about her career as a registered dietitian and the field of wellness and nutrition. Lori also had a passion for travel, especially to Hawaii and enjoyed taking Disney cruises with her family. She deeply loved animals, and her pets were her joy, as was her time spent drawing and creating works of art. She was the life of every party, entertaining those around her with her amazing karaoke skills. She was always up for a Scrabble game night and birthday party bingo.
She leaves behind her husband and best friend, Dewayne Williams, whom she married May 6, 1995; her amazing children, Madison (22) and Dominic (20) Williams; her mother, Lena Simoni of Warren; two sisters, LeeAnn Cannistra (Mike) of Hilliard and Angela Guarnieri of Niles; her brother, David Simoni (Marjorie) of Greenville, S.C.; her brother-in-law, David (Karen) of Virginia; and her mother-in-law, Esther Williams of Hilliard. Lori loved celebrating with her nieces and nephews, Michael, Grace, Joey, Tony, David, Nicholas, Krista and Amanda. They will forever miss the presence of their quirky Aunt Lori and cherish the time they had with her. She also leaves behind her dear aunts, uncles and cousins, with whom she grew up and who loved her so very much.
In addition to her paternal and maternal grandparents and father-in-law, Bill Williams, she was recently preceded in death by her beloved father, David A. Simoni Sr.; as pictured above, father and daughter are together again. Instilled in her by her father, she loved Ohio State football and enjoyed game days with her family. Her presence in this world was always one of humor and laughter. She battled each and every day like a true warrior, and did it with such grace and determination.
Losing Lori will forever leave a void in the hearts and lives of those who loved her, and moving on will not come easy; but she would want us all to celebrate her life, not stay in sadness — for us to smile and laugh about the memories we shared with her. She would want us to continue to live life to the fullest, make new memories and to never stop reaching for the stars. We can hold on to the thought of her serving as our guardian angel.
At Lori’s request, she was cremated and will be placed, near her father, in All Souls Cemetery, Bazetta, Ohio, later this year.
To honor her love for animals, monetary donations can be made to the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County.
