WARREN -- Jackie Boyd Engle, passed away at St. Joseph Warren Hospital Thursday, June 1, 2023, at the age of 76, and is now joined in heaven with his beloved wife, Pamela Jo Engle.
Jack was born Aug. 15, 1946, in Clarksburg, W.Va., the son of the late John and Virginia Engle.
They moved to Warren, where Jack graduated from Warren G. Harding High School.
After graduation, Jack enlisted in the Navy and served as a submariner for six years.
After coming home from the Navy, he created a family and worked as a taxi driver for a short time to support his newborn twins. Jack eventually attained employment as a foreman for Sprint and ultimately was promoted to a supervisor. After 35 years of hard work under his belt, he retired to enjoy his time with family and friends.
Jack was an avid golfer and loved playing in golf leagues and taking summer golfing trips with "the boys."
He was a beloved member of First Christian Church of Niles, where he served as a deacon, elder and sang in the church choir. Jack had a passion for music early on, and, if you asked anyone, they would say he had a beautiful tenor voice and at times, would make up his own words to the songs he sang.
Besides his parents, he also was preceded in death by his son, Jason Engle, who passed away in September of 2017.
He leaves behind his daughter, Jeanette (Michael) Franklin; his two brothers, Charlie (Grace) Engle and Larry (Jill) Engle; and his sister, Barb Engle, all residing in Trumbull County. He also leaves behind his three beloved granddaughters, with whom he loved spending time, Kyra, Cheyanne and Kaylie; grandson, Jordan; stepgranddaughter, Alyssa (Franklin) Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Caleb, Cali and Christopher.
Friends and family may call from 3 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home, 962 North Road, Warren, OH 44483, where services will be provided at 4 p.m. by Pastor Christopher Stark of First Christian Church of Niles.
