Douglas M. Babyak 1942-2023

WARREN -- Douglas Michael Babyak, age 81, of Warren, assed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.

He was born in Youngstown on Jan. 26, 1942, to the late Michael and Elvira DiLisio Babyak.

He was a loving husband and father who enjoyed going to gun shows, antique shows, and participating in Civil War reenactments. He collected stamps, coins, and locks.

After high school he joined the Navy, serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis. After his service in the Navy, he served in the National Guard, and the Army Reserve. He was deployed to Fort Gordon, Ga., during Desert Storm with the Army Reserve.

He was a proud past master of the Wick Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Carole Johnson Babyak; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Charles (Catherian) Babyak; granddaughter, Emma Babyak; special friends, George Beck and Rick Grove; and numerous other family members and friends.

No services are planned currently, according to his wishes.

The family is in the care of Lane Funeral Home, Shafer-Winans Chapel.
