Devon Andrew Biggs 2007-2023
Devon Andrew Biggs
COLUMBUS — Devon Andrew Biggs, born to Michele “Mandy” Biggs on Sept. 21, 2007, made his journey to heaven on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. During his short life, he touched more people’s hearts than most of us do in a whole lifetime.
Devon was an amazing young man with the most sincere heart, loving soul, biggest smile and contagious laugh — never meeting a stranger and never deserting a friend.
In Devon’s 15 years with us, he was, among other things, an athlete. He participated in soccer, basketball and weight lifting, was on the chess team and ran track. His most outstanding accomplishment was earning his black belt in taekwondo, by the age of 9 1/2. He participated in several tournaments, earning a spot in the Nationals in Detroit, where he took third place in board breaking.
After moving to Columbus, he was accepted in Eastmoor Academy, where he excelled. He was chosen to participate in the Law and Leadership program, volunteered with KidsLinked and worked on the security team with his grandfather at his church, when he was visiting in Warren.
He is leaving behind his mom, Michele; his loving father figure, Stuart Clayborn; his sister, MiKayla Peterson; brother, Michon Peterson; grandparents, Richard and Theresa Biggs; his uncle, Darren Biggs of Lordstown; cousin, Christopher Biggs of Lordstown; his aunt, Leslie (John) Wilton of Cleveland; cousins, Abbey and Luke Wilson; and many other second and third cousins, too numerous to mention.
Devon’s celebration of life memorial will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Warren First Church of the Nazarene, 4179 Parkman Road NW, Warren, where a Christian service will follow at 3 p.m. as we celebrate the life of Devon Biggs. All guests will be invited, if led, to share thoughts, memories and funny stories of Devon. Services will be conducted by Pastor Brian Daniels.
In lieu of flowers, a fund will be set up, in Devon’s name, to be implemented at a future date, focused on the dangers of distracted driving and convincing schools to change the running routes of their track teams. This senseless tragedy need never happen again.
