Carol A. Ferance 1946-2023

NEWTON FALLS -- Carol Ann Ferance, 76, passed away Sunday evening, April 23, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, after several years of debilitating illness.

A lifelong resident of Newton Falls, she was born Sept. 22, 1946, to Joseph and Adella Yurgaitis Simko, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Ferance graduated from Newton Falls High School with the Class of 1964, and then proceeded to enter the workforce. After eight years of employment at G.E. Ohio Lamp Company in Warren, Carol worked for 38 years at the Container Corporation of America in Ravenna.

Actively involved in several social organizations, she had been a member of the Business Women of America, the Jaycees, the Red Hats club, and AMVETS Post 112. In addition, she had attended St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church and had pursued a variety of recreational interests, including knitting, crocheting, quilting and attending craft shows. She had enjoyed cake-decorating and candy-making, as well as traveling, reading, painting, and solving puzzles.

Carol was pre-deceased by her husband, Ronald D. Ferance, whom she married Sept. 20, 1997, and who passed away in 2016; and her son, Scott, whose ashes will be interred with his mother.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Karen Simko of Poland, and her niece and nephew and their families.

Private family services will be held, with the Rev. William Rupp of officiating. Carol will be laid to rest next to her husband, Ronald, in St. Michael Cemetery.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Bernard P. Borowski Memorial Home in Newton Falls.
