Rita A. Hurst 1936-2022
WARREN TOWNSHIP — Rita A. Hurst, 85, of Leavittsburg, entered peacefully into eternal life at 12:42 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022, in the Intensive Care Unit at Trumbull Regional Medical Center.
Rita was born July 14, 1936, in Antigo, Wis., the daughter of the late William and Anna Petronella Draeger, and was a lifelong area resident. She was married to her husband of 63 years, Calvin D. Hurst on Oct. 15, 1955; and he preceded her in death on June 13, 2019.
She will be fondly remembered by her four sons, Steven D. (Lynn) of Leesville, S.C., Philip B. (Renee) of Cranberry Township, Pa., Michael J. (Chris) of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Joseph P. of Arlington, Va.; two daughters, Barbara J. (Mike) Johnson of Leesville, Va., and Debra J. (Bill) McIntyre of Warren; two brothers, Lawrence Draeger of Florida and Philip (Carol) Draeger of Antigo, Wis.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation with Rita’s family will begin at 12:30 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Leavittsburg First Community Church. A late lunch will be served following the service at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Rita’s home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2022, at St. Mary Church, Warren, for those that would like to attend her Catholic Mass, where family will be present between 10 and 11 a.m.
