Kevin D. McCormick 1978-2021

Kevin was born Sept. 13, 1978, in Warren, the son of Edward Samuel McCormick and Carol Rider McCormick.

He graduated from Champion High School in 1997. Kevin honorably served and retired in May 2019 as a United States Air Force firefighter after 20 years of service. He was awarded many medals, most notably the Air Force Commendation and Achievement medals.

Kevin leaves behind his wife, Melinda “Mindy” Perkins McCormick; daughter, Brianna; and son, Colin, all of Summerville, S.C. Also surviving are his father, Edward McCormick of Niles; his mother and stepfather, Carol (Arno) Hill of Lordstown; sisters, Kerry McCormick (Carrie Gibson) of Hilliard and Katie Ness (Brent) of Milwaukee, Wis.; mother- and father-in-law, James and Joyce Perkins of Summerville, S.C.; grandmothers, Barbara McCormick of Newnan, Ga., and Emlyn Rider of Howland; as well as three stepsisters and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded by his grandfathers, Eddie S. McCormick and Howard “Pete” Rider Jr.

Flowers will be accepted, but memorials, in Kevin’s name may be made to the Disabled American Veterans by visiting www.secure.dav.org.

Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021, at Parks Funeral Home Chapel.
