WARREN -- Mildred Louise Richardson, 74, of Warren, departed this life on Thursday, June 10, 2021.
She was born March 8, 1947, in Montgomery, Ala., the daughter of Leamon Williams II and Betty Adams Williams. She moved to Warren in 1970.
Mildred was a 1965 graduate of George Washington Carver High School, in Montgomery, Ala.
On March 7, 1965, Mildred made the historic march across the Edmond Pettus Bridge, alongside the late U.S. Rep. John Lewis.
In 1969, she graduated from Alabama State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. Following graduation, she taught for one year at the Henry County Training school in Abbeville, Ala. Mildred earned her Master of Science degree in education from Youngstown State University in 1991.
Mildred was a fourth- and fifth-grade teacher at LaBrae Local Schools for 39 years until she retired in 2009. While at LaBrae, she received SIRI training.
Mildred was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma-Alpha Omega Chapter, Trumbull Retired Teachers Association and Ohio Retired Teachers Association. In 1991, LaBrae honored Mildred's profound career by awarding her the A+ Teachers Award.
Early in life, Mildred confessed Christ at Lilly Baptist Church in Montgomery, Ala. She was a highly active member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Warren, where she worshipped and served since 1974. She served many ministries within the Trinity Baptist Church community, including usher, Pastor's Honor Roll helper and dean of education.
Mildred's favorite sports were baseball and football. She was an avid bowler and a member of the Trinity Baptist Church League, The Lucky Charms. Her hobbies included traveling, collecting coins, rocks and shells, growing plants, and decorating her home. God, family and friends were the loves of her life.
She leaves to mourn, her loving husband, James A. Richardson I; one daughter, Julie A. (Daniel) Stanley of Boardman; one son, James A. Richardson II of Cleveland; and two stepsons, James Michael Richardson of Marionville, Pa., and Brian (Mary) Richardson of Chicago.
She is survived by her three sisters, Roberta (Charles) Durden of Cleveland, Bertha (Robert) Underwood of Montgomery, Ala., and Linda Williams of Plainfield, N.J.; brother, Larry D. Williams of Montgomery, Ala.; two stepbrothers, Leon (Betty) Daniels and Roosevelt Crowson, both of Montgomery, Ala.; one godson, Baraka (Shannon) Patterson; two aunts, Dorothy Claxton and Evangelist JoAnne Lovett, both of Montgomery, Ala.; and two uncles, Bishop Robert (Annie) Adams of Newark, N.J., and Deacon Jimmie Adams of Montgomery, Ala.
Her memory will be cherished by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Leamon Williams III.

Pastor Darryl L. Rodgers Sr. and Minister Wilkins of Trinity Baptist Church will preside over Mildred's funeral service 6 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2021, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home. Relatives and friends will be received one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
Mildred's remains will be laid to rest in the Greenwood & Serenity Memorial Garden in Montgomery, Ala.
