Donald F. Strub, 1934-2020
OCALA, Fla. — Donald F. “Don” Strub, 85, of Warren, died Friday, Sept. 11, 2020, at Bradley House in Florida.
Don was born on Oct. 16, 1934, in Beaver Falls, Pa., to Francis and Hilda (Schmidt) Strub.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Edith Shelton, whom he married Aug. 8, 1987.
He also is survived by his daughter, Denise Strub; son, Timothy Strub; sister, Mary Iacozili; sister-in-law, Sue L. Strub; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Don was a 1953 graduate of St. Mary High School in Warren. After high school, Strub attended Akron University on a scholarship for winning the 1948 All-American Soap Box Derby in Akron. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University and worked for the Packard Electric Division of General Motors as an industrial engineer for 32 years. After retiring in 1992, Strub began his own business, Strub Associates Inc., which he had for 10 years.
Outside of his career, Don had a love for traveling and enjoyed taking cruises with his wife, whom he loved dearly. He was a caring man who will be missed by all who knew him.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James P. “Jim” Strub Sr.; brother-in-law, John Iacozili; and nephew, Bill Iacozili.
Family and friends may pay their respects 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2020, with prayers of Christian burial at the Peter Rossi and Son Funeral Home offered by the Very Rev. Father Christopher Cicero. A private interment will take place at a later date.
The family requests masks are to be worn with social distancing rules applied.
