HOWLAND -- Richard H. "Scottie" Scott, 96, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2019, to be with his wife.
He was born Dec. 14, 1922, in Nova Scotia, Canada, the son of the late John G. and Agnes Scott.
Richard came to the U.S. in 1958, moving to Warren.
He retired from the Red Cross, where he taught safety and first aid. He previously worked at Wean United as a machinist for 25 years.
He was a life member of Knights of Columbus Lodge 297 of Sydney, Nova Scotia.
Richard enjoyed golfing, bowling and had been inducted into the Warren Bowling Association Hall of Fame. He was a bowling instructor at Laurel Lanes Saturday Children's League.
He is survived by his two daughters, Bonnie (Cedric Sberna) Scott of Chicago and Marla (Kevin) Jones of Howland; and two granddaughters, Ashlee Jones and Sara (Giorgio) Vescrea.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary E. Scott, whom he married July 1, 1947, and who passed away May 10, 2019; a brother, Jack Scott; and a sister, Vivian Collair.
Family and friends may pay their respects from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2019, at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE, Warren. There will be a service held at 6 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2019, at the Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas McCarthy officiating.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
