Mary Ann Cross 1946-2018

Mary Ann was born July 28, 1946, in Warren, a daughter of the late Andrew and Virginia Hamilton Velican.

Her life was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and a large circle of wonderful family and friends. For the past 10 years, Mary Ann enjoyed spending the winters in the sunny warmth of Bonita Springs, Fla. The love and support of her family and friends sustained and motivated her during her 23-year battle with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL).

She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 52 years, Richard R. Cross; devoted children, Ryan R. Cross of Bratenahl and Jennifer L. (Scott) Hawkins of Sagamore Hills; beloved grandchildren, who called her “Grammy,” Andrew and Taylor Hawkins; loving sister, Martha Lee (Robert) Ballish of Huntsburg; and in-laws, Ford A. (Pat) Cross of Morehead City, N.C. and Kathi Mann of Cortland.

Her family expresses their sincere appreciation to the talented caregivers at University Hospitals and Cleveland Clinic, especially Bernard Silver MD, for the excellent medical care provided to Mary Ann.

A memorial service will be held in the spring. Interment in Lake View Cemetery, Cleveland.
