Rita M. Strohmeyer 1932-2018

Rita was born May 31, 1932, in Bazetta, the daughter of John and Anna Rohr Ramsey.

Rita was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Church. She retired after many years from McCalis Giant Eagle in Niles.

Rita loved to garden, to decorate cakes, canning and watching old movies. She loved children, especially her grandchildren.

Rita will sadly be missed by her children, Rita (John) Montis, Regis (Patricia) Strohmeyer Jr., Dianne (Zephra) Frye, Eric (Sharon) Strohmeyer, Celeste Mother Theodora Strohmeyer, Lorraine (John) Magulick, Catherine (Mark) Rosine, Gregory (Robin) Strohmeyer, Rebecca (Chris) Prusha, Otto (Theresa) Strohmeyer and son-in-law, Mark Harvey. She will also be missed by 27 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Regis W. Strohmeyer Sr., whom she married June 30, 1951, and who died Feb. 24, 2016; her daughter, Charmaine Harvey; son-in-law, John Montis; and brothers, John Ramsey II and Richard Ramsey.

A Mass of Christian burial will be10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Byzantine Church with the Rev. Father Richard Lambert officiating. Family and friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Lane Funeral Home Mineral Ridge Chapel. Prayers will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home prior to going to church.

Rita will be buried in St. Mary’s Byzantine Cemetery next to her husband.
