Jean I. Fatula 1926-2018

DEERFIELD -- Jean I. Fatula, 91, passed Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, at Copeland Oaks in Sebring.

She was born March 28, 1926, in Hazleton, Pa., the daughter of Wilbur and Irene Augustine Wright.

After graduating from Newton Falls High School, she was employed by the Ravenna Arsenal in the mail area. Jean was an excellent typist, took shorthand and worked as a secretary for attorney Nick Luca, the Newton Falls Police Department and Gilliam Packaging Co.

She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church from its inception and previously had been a member of Lordstown Lutheran Church. Her secretarial skills provided her the opportunity to prepare the bulletins for the church. She also enjoyed helping with vacation Bible school. Jean was a member and an officer of the Newton Falls Order of the Eastern Star.

She loved nature, fishing, painting, a number of crafts and, most of all, big family get-togethers.

Memories of Jean will be carried on by her children, James (Jolene) Fatula of Garrettsville, Robert (Donna) Fatula of Deerfield, Gary (Pat) Fatula of Newton Falls, Janis (Bruce) Robertshaw of Deerfield and Terry (Jo Ann) Fatula of Rootstown; her eight grandchildren, Julie, Vivian, Don, Greg, Deanna, Christine, John and Katie; and her eight great-grandchildren thus far.

Preceding Jean in death were her parents; her husband, Stephen Fatula, whom she married July 21, 1945; and her brother, James Wright.
