AUSTINTOWN -- Edward Snowden, 54, formerly of Pembrook Road, Austintown, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, in Youngstown after a period of declining health.
He was born Feb. 7, 1963.
Ed had a sharp mind and was an outstanding chess player. He was very knowledgeable of the game's history and its champions.
He was an avid sports fan, following college and professional football, Major League Baseball, but most especially the NBA. Ed was a follower of the Cleveland Cavaliers and most passionately the Golden State Warriors. He was a Warriors fan many years before they became a dominant team in the NBA.
Ed had a deep knowledge of the Bible. He attended Bible studies at Highway Tabernacle, Dorothy Day House, chapel at the Rescue Mission and also attended services at St. John's Episcopal Church.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Saturday at the Rescue Mission in Youngstown, conducted by Pastor Larry Loverme.
