Mary Lynn Murray Russell

Lynn was born Aug. 7, 1941, in Toronto, Ohio, the daughter of Peter J. and Thurma Murray.

In 1980, Lynn married the love of her life, William Russell Sr. and they lived in Howland until they moved to Goose Creek, S.C., last year to be close to their children and grandchildren.

Family and friends were Lynn’s passion and delight. She grew up spending summers and vacations with her brothers and her cousins. She loved to host and entertain and frequently had parties at her house. A consummate mother and homemaker, Lynn was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, William Russell Sr.; brothers, Jon Murray of Rocklin, Calif., and Greg Murray of Baton Rouge, La.; daughter, Mary Ann McCart-Hassan of Goose Creek, S.C.; son, Todd Patrick McCart of Summerville, S.C.; grandchildren, Autumn Arbogast of Moncks Corner S.C., Tara McCart of Hanahan, S.C., and Dyanna, Ashley and Billy Russell of Warren; great-grandchildren, Rylee and Addison Arbogast, Emma and Lexi Engleman and Issac Russell; four nieces; seven nephews; and a number of other relatives and close friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Todd Murray.

The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her illness at Roper Hospital in downtown Charleston.
