NAPLES, Fla. -- Anthony A. "Tony" Miele, 92, of Naples, formerly of Niles, died Saturday, May 13, 2017.
He was born Oct. 17, 1924, in Niles, the son of Philip and Julia Miele.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy.
Miele worked as a mechanical engineer before founding Miele Engineering in Warren, and later established Western Matic Corporation.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Ruth Miele; a son, Philip Miele of Columbus; a daughter, Marianne Miele of Naples; four grandchildren; stepchildren, Mark Tochtenhagen of Nashville and Lisa Olsen of Fairfax, Va.; and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Filomena "Fannie" Iannizzaro Miele; and a son, Anthony F. Miele.
