Historic scenes featured in calendar

NILES -- Calendars featuring historical photographs from the city's earliest days are for sale through the Niles Historical Society for $10.

The society plans to annually release the calendars to raise money. The 2017 calendar is on sale and has photos from the late 19th century and the early 20th century, including images of the old fire station and the 1913 flood.

The calendars can be purchased during open houses 2 to 5 p.m. the first Sunday of the month at the Ward-Thomas Museum, 503 Brown St., or by calling Sandy Bilovesky at 330-652-8329.

Cold weather program at mission

WARREN -- The Warren Family Mission is starting its cold weather program for the winter months with beds available.

The 1228 W. Market St. location is for men only. The facility is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week and for emergency situations.

If people need to get out of the cold, coffee and warmth are available 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 155 Tod Ave., Warren.

McKinley birthday set for Saturday

NILES -- The McKinley Memorial Library will celebrate the 174th birthday of Niles native and the nation's 25th president, William McKinley, noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. It is free.

Refreshments will be served at the McKinley Birthplace Home and Research Center on South Main Street, where there will be self-guided tours.

Relay For Life meetings planned

NILES -- The Relay For Life of Niles set its committee and team meetings for 6 to 7 p.m. Feb. 1, March 1 and April 5 at the city's wellness center, 213 Sharkey Drive.

Museum shows vintage valentines

WARREN -- The Sutliff Museum recently opened a new exhibit, "Messages from Cupid: Vintage Valentines from 1840-1930."

The museum, operated by The Warren Library Association, is located on the second floor of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave., Warren, and is free and fully handicapped accessible.

It is open 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday.

McDonald church hosts sale

McDONALD -- Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 618 Ohio Ave., will host a rummage sale 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 10 and 9 a.m. to noon Feb. 11.

There also will be a clothing bag sale, and all other merchandise will be half off Feb. 11.
