Police activity reported July 29-Aug. 4:

Aug. 4, 9:21 p.m. -- Telephone harassment reported in the 200 block of Butternut Circle.

6:38 p.m. -- Reckless van reported in the area of High Street. The driver told police the vehicle was having mechanical problems.

1:15 p.m. -- Hit and run crash reported at a business in the 100 block of South High Street.

9:20 a.m. -- Raccoon walking around reported in the 300 block of North Mecca Street. Police found the raccoon sleeping and advised it that it was unwanted on the property. It promptly swam across a pond and ran into the woods, police said.

7:58 a.m. -- Suspicious black vehicle reported in the 3700 block of Warren Meadville Road.

7:53 a.m. -- Reckless vehicle reported in the 400 block of Cherry Hill Lane.

Aug. 3, 11:09 a.m. -- Disturbance reported at a business in the 100 block of North Mecca Street.

Aug. 2, 9:48 p.m. -- Reckless maroon Toyota Four Runner reported in the 600 block of Mecca Street.

4:35 p.m. -- Cortland police assisted Cortland fire / EMS in the 3000 block of Liberty Boulevard.

4:02 p.m. -- Suspicious black SUV reported in the area of Thornhill Drive and Aspen Place.

12:32 p.m. -- Disturbance reported at a business in the 200 block of South High Street.

Aug. 1, 11:03 p.m. -- Single-vehicle crash reported in the 400 block of North Mecca Street.

8:50 p.m. -- Found credit card reported at a business in the 3300 block of Niles Cortland Road. It was later returned to the owner.

4:39 p.m. -- Found diaper bag returned to its owner.

12:06 p.m. -- Sick raccoon reported at a business in the 200 block of South High Street.

Noon -- Criminal damaging reported in the 100 block of Dennis Drive.

11:33 a.m. -- Domestic disturbance reported in the 400 block of Rosewae Avenue.

July 31, 12:33 p.m. -- Cortland police assisted Cortland fire / EMS in the 300 block of North High Street.

July 30, 8:11 a.m. -- Reckless white Prius reported in the area of North Colonial and South Colonial drives.

July 29, 9:09 p.m. -- Two people smoking reported in the 500 block of Wakefield Drive.

8:23 p.m. -- Raccoon lying in the middle of the intersection reported at Pearl and North Mecca streets. A caller also reported the raccoon was "trying to charge people," according to police records. With no solicitation permit being issued to the raccoon, police advised the raccoon of its illegal activity and ordered it to stop "charging" people until a permit was obtained. The raccoon hissed at the officers and left the area, a report states.

11:22 a.m. -- Found diaper bag reported at Willow Park.

12:54 a.m. -- Cortland police assisted Bazetta police in the area of McCleary Jacoby Road and West Main Street.
