Police activity reported Aug. 3-16:
Aug. 16, 3:01 a.m. — Suspicious activity reported at 352 Hayes Ave. after a person sitting on the back porch heard a possible gunshot. The man saw someone get inside the passenger side of a parked vehicle nearby, which was driven off at high rate of speed, causing the loud noise.
Aug. 15, 4:22 a.m. — Domestic dispute reported at 1019 Pennsylvania Ave. after a man told police a woman broke his thumb and the woman told police a man slapped her in the face with a phone.
Aug. 14, 9:55 p.m. — Police stopped a vehicle at Fourth and Grant streets, with James Sunderman cited for driving under suspension. Police warned the driver about renewing his expired license plates.
9:46 p.m. — A flashlight was found laying in the intersection at Ninth Street and Indiana Avenue.
7:54 a.m. — Two orange-capped syringes were found in front of the water department building, 416 Ohio Ave.
7:14 a.m. — Petty theft reported at 714 Illinois Ave. after a man found his car door opened. Someone removed a wallet from the parked vehicle and attempted to use a bank card. The man was alerted to the attempt by a text message from his bank.
Aug. 13, 8:46 p.m. — Public indecency reported at Woodland Park parking lot, 450 Ohio Ave., after teens reported a man in a car pulled his pants down.
Aug. 13, 2:15 p.m. — Items were stolen from a vehicle parked at 409 W. Fifth St.
1:02 p.m. — Petty theft reported at 420 Dakota Ave. after a pile of mail was found near the intersection of Nebraska and Dakota avenues. A resident reported items missing from his vehicle, including a laptop and credit cards. The laptop was later found at the side of the house.
1:49 p.m. — Theft from vehicle reported at 270 Dakota Ave. after someone overnight took a wallet, credit cards, gift card and $60 cash from the unlocked vehicle.
6:42 a.m. — Theft of vehicle reported at 535 Dakota Ave. The car was later found on fire on railroad tracks off Niles Carver Road in Weathersfield.
Aug, 11, 9:39 a.m. — Vehicle stopped by police at Ohio Avenue and Fifth Street. Tevin Wright was arrested on multiple warrants out of Mahoning County, including felony fraud and impersonation. The vehicle was towed.
Aug. 7, 2:43 p.m. — Suspicious activity reported at 1106 Ohio Ave. after a white hanger was found between windows of the house. Loose change was found missing from a vehicle.
Aug. 4, 10:34 p.m. — Disturbance reported at Dairy Queen on East Marshall Road after a person in the drive-thru was harassing employees and yelling and swearing at two workers. The man appeared to be intoxicated.
Aug, 3, 10:23 p.m. — Telephone harassment reported at 100 E. Marshall Road after a man reported an ex-girlfriend had been harassing him with text messages.
