US Air Force removes bombers from

British air base after terror threat

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Air Force has brought home its bombers stationed at a U.S.-run military air base in England used to strike Iran following an investigation into a planned terror attack at the RAF Fairford base.

That threat is according to a Pentagon official who was not authorized to discuss sensitive military movements and spoke Sunday on condition of anonymity. The official said the bombers were redeployed back to their home bases in the United States.

The move comes as President Donald Trump weighs options for his war on Iran -- including new strikes -- as the conflict enters its eighth month.

Her lawyer, Stephen Ferrell, said Sunday that her prognosis might not be known for days.

Pike, now 50, was sentenced to death for a 1995 murder.

Tennessee officials gave her two doses of a lethal injection drug Wednesday night, but it didn't kill her. Her lawyers said her arms were burned and blistered from the drugs. Pike's medical decisions are being made by someone with her power of attorney, whose identity remains undisclosed.

Search suspended for six missing

on flight from Bermuda to Boston

A search has been suspended off the Massachusetts coast for six people on an air ambulance that disappeared during a flight from Bermuda to Boston.

The decision was made Sunday after authorities searched more than 4,400 miles.

The Federal Aviation Administration told the Coast Guard on Saturday that it had lost contact with the Gulfstream G100 carrying four Canadians and two people from Bermuda over the Atlantic Ocean.

A "debris field" was found later Saturday off the coast of Nantucket. Coast Guard Northeast District Rear Adm. Matt Lake says authorities have searched a large area using fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, boats and cutters.

Serb separatist declares win in Bosnia

SARAJEVO, Bosnia-Herzegovina -- Milorad Dodik has declared victory for his party in Bosnia's election, which was influenced by economic pressures, EU membership prospects, and ethnic tensions.

Dodik, a pro-Russia figure, has dominated the campaign despite being banned from office. His ally, Zeljka Cvijanovic, leads in the race for one of the country's tripartite presidency seats. Dodik claims his party will hold a majority in Republika Srpska's assembly. The election saw low turnout, with only 42% of eligible voters participating. Bosnia's complex political landscape continues to be shaped by ethnic divisions and Dodik's defiance of national governance.

Runoff for president of Brazil needed

BRASILIA, Brazil-- Sen. Flavio Bolsonaro, an ally of U.S. President Donald Trump, and Brazil's veteran President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva will face off in a runoff for the top job of Latin America's powerhouse economy.

The country's electoral court in Brasilia said neither the 80-year-old incumbent, seeking his fourth non-consecutive term, nor the 45-year-old son of former President Jair Bolsonaro would garner a majority in Sunday's first round of voting. The runoff election will be held on Oct. 25.
