House majority leader to keynote Columbiana County GOP dinner

U.S. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise will deliver the keynote address at the Columbiana County Republican Party’s annual Lincoln Day Dinner on Thursday. Scalise, a Louisiana Republican and the House Republicans’ second-ranking member, will be introduced by U.S. Rep. Michael Rulli, R-Salem, whose district includes Mahoning and Columbiana counties. Bridge replacement project gets $500,000

CHAMPION — The Ohio Department of Transportation awarded $500,000 toward the replacement of a bridge that leads to the $30 million Mercy Health-Champion Emergency Center under construction. Trumbull County Commissioner Rick Hernandez said: “This is absolutely beneficial. This project will definitely enhance that area with the emergency center. We hope that once Mercy is up and running with the emergency center that they build a hospital there in the future.
