Warrant issued for man evading police LIBERTY — A warrant was issued through Girard Municipal Court for Shane Link, 31, of Youngstown, on a charge of obstructing official business Wednesday morning. According to a police report, officers were notified by an anonymous caller Monday that Link, with whom officers are familiar, was staying in a Motel 6 hotel room, with officers also noting that he had felony warrants and a history of resisting arrest. NILES — Ann Marie Thigpen’s administrative career has kept her in one place for the past decade, and she’ll be able to continue that thanks to a series of moves Tuesday night. The Niles City Schools Board of Education approved Thigpen’s retirement-resignation as the district’s superintendent, effective Saturday, then approved her employment to the same position in a five-year, 240-day contract, effective Aug. 4 through July 31, 2031, per the terms and conditions of the employment contract. County to review budget through year’s end

WARREN — Trumbull County Commissioners are expected to review the general fund budgets of all the county departments next week to determine what will be needed for the departments to complete the year based on 2026 budgets assigned to them at the end of 2025. The commissioners at their weekly workshop Tuesday received an overview of 2026 budget requests from 30 county departments that added up to $82,084,057.38. Trumbull’s investment earnings nearly $750K more than ’25

WARREN — Trumbull County has earned nearly $750,000 more in interest so far this year than during the same period in 2025, Treasurer Agostino Ragozzino told the Trumbull County Commissioners during their quarterly investment advisory committee meeting Tuesday.
