Woman killed when motorcycle hits 2 horses on state Route 46

Staff report BAZETTA — A Cortland woman was killed early Friday when her motorcycle struck two horses while she was driving on state Route 46. Heather M. Robinson, 42, was traveling south on Route 46 near Cadwallader Sonk Road around 4:20 a.m. on a 2006 Suzuki GXR 1000 when two horses entered the road. Robinson struck one of the horses, causing her motorcycle to travel off the right side of the road and into a ditch, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Warren post. Watkins opposes parole for convicted murderer

WARREN — Trumbull County Prosecutor Dennis Watkins is opposing parole for Warren Cromety, 51, who was sentenced to 25 years to life in prison in 1995 for the 1993 home invasion and stabbing death of 78-year-old Theodore Emerson and severe injuries to his wife, Cathryn, 72. Cromety comes up for a parole hearing this month. He has served 32 years and three months in prison on convictions for aggravated murder, attempted murder, aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery and escape. State probes 2 Valley schools over testing irregularities

The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce has launched investigations of Southside Academy in Youngstown and Newton Falls Elementary School over irregularities in state testing procedures last spring.
