Judge denies defense motions in postal worker killing

With the federal murder trial of Kaprise and Thomas Sledge now 10 days away in the March 2, 2024, shooting death of U.S. Postal Service carrier Jonte Davis, 33, in Warren, U.S. District Court Judge Donald C. Nugent has denied several defense motions. The rulings were filed Wednesday after a motion hearing took place in federal court in Cleveland. A federal judge in a civil lawsuit late last month cleared a Brookfield police officer, a Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office deputy, Vienna police officer and an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper of all liability in the March 21, 2023, shooting death of Fred H. Trustees review options for former Central school property

CHAMPION — Township trustees were once again asked by residents what is being planned for the former nine-acre Central Elementary School property off Route 45 but one item is for sure trustees say they do not want a park there.
