Spill closes Liberty road for 8 hours

LIBERTY — Tibbetts Wick Road has reopened since Thursday afternoon’s spill, but the township’s fire chief says more work will happen before the road is completely cleared of its residue. New closures announced for I-76 and I-80 project

In addition to previous announced closures for pavement rehabilitation on Interstate 76/80 in Austintown and Jackson townships, ODOT has announced several new closures for the project. They include: • I-80 westbound between Salt Springs Road and state Route 46 will be reduced to one lane through late August. • The ramp from I-80 west to Route 46 will be closed through mid-August. The detour will be I-80 westbound to I-76 westbound to Bailey Road to I-76 eastbound to I-80 eastbound to Route 46.

WARREN — Officers were unable to locate a suspect as they responded to reports of shots fired Thursday afternoon. According to a police report, dispatchers said a caller reported that someone was shooting at his house on Fifth Street SW and fled in a silver Kia SUV toward Tod Avenue.
