Trial in mail carrier murder moved to Friday

Newly discovered evidence in the federal murder trial of Kaprise and Thomas Sledge caused the start of the trial to be moved from Monday to 8:30 a.m. this Friday, according to a Sunday and a Monday filing in U.S. District Court in Cleveland. The Sledges were supposed to go on trial Monday in the March 2, 2024, shooting death of U.S. Postal Service carrier Jonte Davis, 33, at Olive Avenue and Scott Street just northeast of Courthouse Square in Warren. WARREN — Three people were sentenced to various prison terms in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court last week for various crimes. They include: • Xavier T.
