WARREN — Warren Township trustees on Tuesday told Trumbull County commissioners dozens of residents fear the county will replace the concrete pavement on dozens of township roads with chip and seal that will deteriorate in a few years. Staff report WARREN — Pastor Todd Johnson announced Saturday on his Facebook page that Thursday will be his last day as 1st Ward city councilman after serving in the position since shortly after winning the seat in the November 2021 election. HUBBARD — Two men arrested on charges of the same crime in separate incidents involving persons they believed to be minors made court appearances Monday. Joseph Trader, 34, pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor attempted importuning, but also made an appearance on charges of importuning and attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor in front of Girard Municipal Court Judge Jeffery Adler on Monday. ODOT money not an option for possible gas holiday

Republicans in the state Legislature abandoned plans to use Ohio Department of Transportation’s nonexistent cash reserves for a proposed 90-day gas holiday and instead will try to pass a bill with money from the general revenue fund paying for it. The change is the result of ODOT’s largest fund, for highway operating, not having money to cover the cost, which increased from an estimated $678 million to $726 million in just five days to cover the loss from the proposed 90-day state gas tax suspension plan.
