WARREN -- Jhvetti R. Street, 41, of Cranwood Drive SW, was sentenced to 10 to 12 years in prison Thursday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court after he pleaded guilty to felonious assault with a three-year firearm specification and having weapons while under disability.
Judge Ronald Rice handed down the sentence.
The charges stemmed from a 10:32 a.m., June 1 call for gunshots being fired on Cranwood Drive near Woodview Circle.
A Warren police report states that when officers arrived, they spoke with the caller on Woodview Circle. He said he had just backed into his driveway and saw Street walking down the sidewalk. He said he saw his nephew taking something out of a garbage can that was in the road.
The nephew told police he saw Street cross to the other side of Cranwood Drive, pull out a gun and aim it in his direction, then fire a shot and run toward him and fire again. Then Street "ran back and went into his residence," the report states.
The report does not indicate that the nephew was injured.
Additional officers arrived, and an officer used a public address device to get Street to come out of the house. Street walked out of the house and was taken into custody.
An officer recovered a gun from the home that contained two spent bullet casings and four live rounds in the gun's cylinder, the report states.
The officer then went back to Woodview Circle to talk to the caller, who said a bullet was in the road near the street sign at Cranwood and Woodview Circle. The bullet was collected as evidence.
