WARREN -- A city woman held three men at gunpoint after finding them in her home on West Market Street Monday morning.
A Warren police report states that when officers arrived, the woman said she had her gun with her and then pointed to three suspects sitting on the stairs in the home. The officer had the men come down the stairs one at a time.
They were later identified as Ellison L. Donerson III, 41, of Mahoning Avenue NW; Jody A. Elliott Jr., 48, of Youngstown; and Caleb T. Slater, 35, of Kenilworth Avenue SE.
While the officer was handcuffing one of the men, the other two "went back up stairs out of sight," the report states.
Officers called out to them. Officers pointed a stun gun toward them, and they showed themselves and were handcuffed and placed in separate police cruisers. Officers did not find any other people in the home.
The woman said she was staying with a relative because of water issues at her home. She stopped by and saw that the door as open a crack, so she called a friend to come over and walk inside with her.
She saw a bicycle inside that did not belong there. She unholstered her handgun and called out to anyone inside. She heard voices and ordered them to come downstairs while her friend called 911. She had never seen any of the three men before.
Elliott was charged with felony burglary and felony escape for trying to run from officers at one point. Donerson and Slater were each charged with one count of felony burglary. All three were arraigned Tuesday in Warren Municipal Court.
