By ED RUNYAN 2 min read

WARREN -- Ryan S. Morris, 42, Federal Street NW pleaded guilty to a third degree felony, repeat-offender OVI Wednesday in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court and will be sentenced later.

He faces a mandatory prison term. It was his sixth OVI offense.

The case involves a Jan. 2, 2026, traffic stop by the Ohio State Highway Patrol when Morris failed a field sobriety test and refused to complete a breathalyzer test, prosecutors stated.

Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor Mike Burnett told Judge Sean O'Brien that when the trooper pulled Morris over, he noticed that Morris had slurred speech. Morris was taken to a testing facility and began to take a test of the alcohol in his system, but Morris stopped the test when the value on the equipment reached 0.22.

Court records show Morris was convicted of previous OVI violations July 17, 2024, in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court; Aug. 31, 2023, in Warren Municipal Court; March 30, 2022, in Warren Municipal Court, Sept. 15, 2021, in Trumbull County Central District Court and Feb. 26, 2007, in Warren Municipal Court.

The plea agreement also required Morris to forfeit the vehicle involved in the OVI arrest, and Morris was fined $1,350 and given a three-year driver's-license suspension.
