WARREN -- City Council approved a resolution at Wednesday night's regular council meeting renewing its agreement with McCaulley & Co. of Rocky River to help the city with grant writing and government relations services.
The contract pays McCaulley & Co. $11,000 per month plus expenses, such as postage, express mail service, copying, printing or other duplication, production or submission forms and documents, plus travel expenses outside of Cuyahoga County, where the company's offices are located.
Next year will be the fourth year the company has provided the services.
Councilman Greg Thumm said he supports continuing with the company, saying it has done "great work," and the price this year is "actually the regular price, not a price increase" because the company gave the city a "discount" in the beginning.
He said he thinks everyone on council is in agreement that they want to continue to contract with the company.
HOME REPAIR
City Council also approved allowing Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership/Trumbull County Land Bank to move $110,000 of American Rescue Plan funds provided by the city of Warren to TNP from TNP housing demolitions to TNP's Emergency Home Repair program.
TNP advised Auditor Vince Flask that TNP has enough existing home rehab projects to spend the $110,000 by the deadline at the end of this year.
Flask said at a meeting before the council meeting Wednesday that TNP was not going to be able to use the funds for demolition by the end of the year.
Caitlyn Constantine, who runs TNP's Emergency Repair Program, told council members that the $110,000 is not new funding. It is moving $110,000 that City Council allocated to TNP earlier from one TNP program to another TNP program.
Constantine said TNP completed the demolitions that were on TNP's list. In some cases, home owners pulled their property from the demolition list as a result of the home owner "emerging and coming to either fix the houses or sell to somebody that can fix the houses."
