WHAT: Niles park board meeting Tuesday
PRESENT: Harry Salapata, Heidi Barker and Jaclyn Gerberry
The board:
* Approved increasing wellness center membership fees by $5 effective in 2027.
* Heard from Salapata that the columns were up for the sign at Wilder Field and look similar to the entrance at Bo Rein Stadium, but a smaller version.
* Heard from Park Director Mark Pallante the Wilder outfield Field turf is out for bid with opening Oct. 27. The Wilder fence and concrete project was awarded to Terreri, with work starting next week.
* Heard from Pallante that Integra was awarded the bid on the construction of the multi-use area at Waddell Park, with work to start in November.
*Heard from Pallante the islands in the parking lot are being renovated. The bushes are being removed because of weeds and maintenance. Pallante said once removed, larger river rock will be installed.
