WHAT: Village council meeting Monday
PRESENT: Robert Bond, Mark McGrail, Lamar Liming, Jamie Moseley, Jessica Blank, Ron Radtka and Mayor Jackie Woodward
Council:
● Approved Shelley and Sands Inc. of North Jackson for the resurfacing of Helmick Drive, Chester Avenue and Westview Avenue at a cost not to exceed $129,121, payable from the streets capital improvement fund.
● Heard from Village Engineer Chris Kogelnik that resurfacing work has begun on Lyntz Road and Henn Parkway Road. He said work also has begun on the state Route 45 water booster station project.
● Heard from Clerk Bill Blank that the cybersecurity policy for the village is being updated.
● Announced the fire and police department will host a Safety Services Day 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Lordstown schools parking lot. There will be demonstrations, vehicle and equipment displays, toy giveaways and food.
● Accepted the resignation of Larry Keller as a full-time dispatcher and then rehired him on a part-time basis as Keller has taken a full-time position with Trumbull County 911.
● Heard from Road Supervisor Martin Nelder that work has begun to demolish the classroom section of the Kunkel building off state Route 45.

WHAT: Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities meeting Sept. 28
PRESENT: Melissa Baker, Timothy Calderone, Mauro DiVieste, Jodi Glaser. Kimberly Hynes and Larry Larson
The board:
● Named John Hickey of Bristol to a four-year term to fill an opening to replace Mary Cunningham whose term ended in December. Hickey will serve on the board through December 2029. Cunningham had served three four-year terms and was not eligible to serve an additional term.
● Approved an agreement with Summit Housing Development Corp. for housing for clients served by TCBDD. Superintendent Edward Stark said there are 16 locations in the county where the TCBDD is the landlord, and Summit Housing provides the upkeep and maintenance. The contract with Summit Housing Development Corp. is for acquisition, management and leasing of residential properties for individuals with developmental disabilities in Trumbull County, which are residential properties from Residence Living of Trumbull County, Inc.
● Hired Amanda Brookbank as a teacher filling the vacancy created by Kathy Fleming; Tawandra Knight as a service and support administrator, filling the vacancy created by Carla Carlton's resignation; and William Collins to fill the facilities maintenance technician position.
● Approved the transfer of Bridgette Drotar to a classroom assistant position, filling the vacancy created by Michelle Dennison.
