WARREN -- Logan M. Ellis, 22, of Garrettsville, was arraigned Tuesday in Warren Municipal Court on a felony drug trafficking charge connected to a Monday morning call to a home on Perkinswood Avenue SE involving gunfire.

Officers were called to the 1000 block of Perkinswood near Sussex Street SE at 8:40 a.m. Monday for shots fired. Numerous callers reported the incident. Callers said after the gunshots were fired, a "chubby" person ran to a silver Honda and fled in the vehicle toward Market Street, the report states.

When an officer arrived on Perkinswood, there were people on the porch of a home in the 1000 block who said their house was shot up. A woman said Ellis texted her threats and after the gunshots hit the house, she saw Ellis running toward a gray Honda. She said he runs with a distinctive limp.

The officer determined that the gunshot entered the house. An occupant found the bullet in the house, but they did not touch it, they told police. The bullet was recovered as evidence, the report states.

Officers later spotted the Honda in the city, made a traffic stop and took Ellis into custody. The officer found marijuana in a clear baggie, two digital scales and cash in connection to Ellis' arrest. Ellis was charged with drug trafficking. A detective was going to interview Ellis regarding the shooting call, the report states.

Ellis' next hearing in Warren Municipal Court will be Oct. 27.
