WARREN -- Warren Municipal Court Judge Natasha Natale is sponsoring a program called Steering Clear Warren at 9 a.m. Oct. 3 at First Presbyterian Church, 256 Mahoning Avenue NW in Warren, to educate and assist people overcome driver's-license suspensions and other barriers.
The free "suspended-license intervention workshop" is one of a series of such events Natale has sponsored in recent years. The event is limited to the first 50 participants.
Natale said last week that she has spoken with judges in the area about using the workshop as a way to help people get their suspended licenses back. She said each participant can receive a certificate indicating that he or she attended the event. The certificate may help the person achieve a beneficial outcome in their case, she said.
The program is intended for people whose driving privileges are suspended. They will be given the opportunity to meet one-on-one with a license-restoration specialist to determine whether they are eligible for reinstatement of their license. The event is open to the public.
Transportation to the event is available by calling Second Baptist Church of Warren at 330-393-0802 at least one day before the event.
Other services and information to be available at the event are employment assistance, information regarding expungement of convictions, job training services and skill development.
Agencies and nonprofit organizations attending include the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership, Flying HIGH Inc., Home For Good, Community Legal Aid, Strengthening Connections Community Services, Second Baptist Church, Jobs for Ohio Graduates, Open Water Counseling, St. Vincent de Paul and the Suicide Prevention and Guidance Foundation.
