WHAT: Regular commissioners meeting Wednesday

PRESENT: Tony Bernard, Rick Hernandez and Denny Malloy

Commissioners:

• Adopted a resolution proclaiming September as Addiction Recovery Month in Trumbull County for its 37th annual observance.

• Adopted a resolution proclaiming Sept. 13 to 19 as Direct Support Professional Work Recognition Week in Trumbull County in conjunction with the national observance.

• Voted to approve a $17,010.47 change order with Declan Construction of Brookfield for its renovation work on the Trumbull County Coroner's Office.

• Approved the annual payment of $2,500 to the Trumbull County Family & Children's First Council.

• Approved a $250 payment to the Ohio County Dog Warden Association for the county's executive dog warden's associate membership.

• Passed a resolution approving $83,701.78 contracts between the Trumbull County Sheriff's Office and seven area school districts for school resource officers. The districts are Joseph Badger, Bloomfield-Mespo, Bristol, Champion, John F. Kennedy, Newton Falls and Trumbull Career & Technical Center.

• Appointed John Hickey as a member of the Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities.

• Voted 2-1 to appoint John Moliterno as an alternate member representing Commissioner Rick Hernandez during the twice a month Trumbull County Planning Commission meetings. Denny Malloy voted against the appointment.

• Heard from Trumbull County Prosecutor Dennis Watkins, who agreed to allow an assistant county prosecutor to remain a voting member on the Trumbull County Budget Commission until the end of 2026. Afterwards, commissioners will have to appoint a member of its office to sit on the budget commission.

• Announced there will be no weekly workshop or regular meeting next week. The next workshop will be at 10 a.m. Sept. 15.
