Council:
• Passed an ordinance accepting and confirming the dedication of Illumination Point Drive as a public street of the City of Niles.
• Passed a resolution authorizing the service director to issue a request for qualifications for the Wastewater Treatment Plant screen enclosure project.
• Passed an ordinance authorizing the service director to advertise for bids and enter into a contract for the U.S. 422 Water Main Loop Improvement Project.
• Passed an ordinance authorizing the service director to advertise for bids and enter into contract for the Lead Service Line Replacement Project.
• Passed an ordinance approving the application for the city-funded business grant approved by the Community Improvement Corporation of Niles for Imperial Glazing Concepts Inc.
• Passed an ordinance approving the application for the city-funded business grant approved by the Community Improvement Corporation of Niles for Tjaks Hospitality LLC dba Tommy Doggs.
• Passed an ordinance authorizing the service director to direct-hire C&K Industrial Services Inc. for sanitary sewer inspection and cleaning near Sandalwood Drive.

The board:
• Accepted the Small Rural School Achievement Grant as a Fiscal Year 2027 grant allocation, totaling $22,390.
• Approved hiring Nicholas Mullett as a full-time custodian at a rate of $19.25 per hour.
• Approved the horizontal movement of Sadie Bertok to the next step of her contract, at a salary of $49,979, effective for the 2026-27 school year.
• Approved Doug Berkhouse, Julie Berkhouse, Kevin Haynie, David Ottney, Jeff Parent, Julie Ring, Mike Snyder, Jared Terlecky and Dan Voytko for morning and/or afternoon duty at Mathews High School for the 2026-27 school year, at $15 per hour, effective Aug. 31.
• Approved the horizontal movement of Grace Jerasa to the next step of her contract, at a salary of $66,894 effective for the 2026-27 school year.
• Approved the horizontal movement of Sandra Williams to the next step of her contract, at a salary of $79,197 effective for the 2026-27 school year.
• Approved the horizontal movement of Michelle Bottorff to the next step of her contract, at a salary of $79,197 effective for the 2026-27 school year.
