WHAT: Board of education meeting Wednesday

PRESENT: Nick Gall, Jessica Krumpak, Kristina Merola, Michael Morris and Donna Shields

The board:

• Approved a three-year contract with Amanda Latell as treasurer of McDonald schools at a salary of $79,000 for 260 work days effective Aug. 1, 2026 through July 31, 2027.

• Approved an agreement with All Ways Construction LLC to have designated property at the athletic facility to establish district bus parking at a cost of $82,870.

• Renewed an agreement with PureResults water treatment program with Gardiner for the two school buildings. The agreement is for one year effective Oct. 1 at $2,616 per year payable in quarterly amounts of $654.

• Approved Robin Kapalko as an academic support instructor for the high school at $25 per hour not to exceed 28.75 hours per week.

Trumbull County

WHAT: Trumbull Career & Technical Center board meeting Sept. 10

The board:

• Approved an agreement with the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office for a school resource officer at a cost of $83,000.

• Approved an agreement for the certified nursing association program students for supervised nursing aide experiences at Otterbein Senior Living Skilled Nursing facility and concurrent in-service for high school Health Science Academy students preparing for certified nursing assistant certification also at the facility.

• Approved the landscaping program's trip to the High School Landscape Olympics ATL in Wooster Oct. 14-15, Skills USA to the fall leadership conference at the Columbus Convention Center Nov. 12-13, and the state leadership conference and competition April 7 to 9, both at the Columbus Convention Center.

• Approved the retirement of science teacher Stephen Panak effective Jan. 1 with more than 22 years of service.

• Approved Melissa Sydslowski as mentor teacher instructor at $410 per resident educator with whom she works.

• Approved a memorandum of understanding with the education association where classified staff can be reimbursed up to $1,250 for college or other classes they take.
