WHAT: Township trustee meeting Monday
PRESENT: John Nemet, Doreen Lutz and Pete Augusta
Trustees:
• Approved a proposal from Diamond Door at $1,049 for new remote entry for garage bay for the senior citizen van.
• Are seeking state funds jointly with Braceville Township for 2027 for the paving of Hewitt Gifford Road, which is located in both townships.
• Were informed the road department addressed a sinkhole on Miller Graber Road.
• Approved disbursement of $1,535 from the township and $2,114 from Ohio Public Works Commission funds for Salt Springs Road project to RT Vernal Paving and Excavating at $3,650.
• Decided to wait to replace a section of a fence at the East Side Cemetery. Cemetery sexton Mike Hall said two trees at the cemetery need to be addressed before the fall and hit a fence. He said some parts of the fence have been smashed by trees that have fallen. Trustees said they have put in a lot of work at the two cemeteries.
• Heard from Newton the joint fire district board will make needed repairs to the rescue vehicle at $30,000.
• Had no objection to a liquor permit renewal for Riverview Tavern and Duck Creek Golf Course off Newton Tomlinson Road.
• Made repairs to the brim of the West River Road and Oak Knoll Road after concerns of residents who live in the area.
• Set fall cleanup day from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 12 at the township administration building lot. There will be two large dumpsters available for residents.
