WHAT: Board of Education meeting Aug. 10
PRESENT: Aaron Abrahamson, Patricia Fisher, David Mahan and Marie Downs

The board:
• Approved an agreement with the Trumbull County commissioners and sheriff's office for a school resource officer for one year effective July 1 at $83,700. The officer will work the school year from August through May and then spend the rest of time with the sheriff's department.
• Received a $1,250 donation from the Ohio High School Athletic Association athletic enrichment fund for high school athletics.
• Hired Sam Harper as a full-time building custodian on a one-year contract and Melanie Lucas as musical director and band director.
• Approved Cheryl Cozad to work an additional 25 hours as needed for the sumer to assist the athletic director with clearing athletic physicals, processing paperwork on new coach hires and preparing purchase requisitions for the athletic department.
• Scheduled a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 27 on personnel and other matters.
